(The Hill) - Dozens of former Cabinet officials under former President Trump’s administration declined to publicly support the former president’s third bid for the White House, NBC News reported.NBC News reached out to 44 people who previously served in Trump’s Cabinet during his four years in office to gauge whether they would support the former president during the 2024 presidential election. DENVER (AP) — As Denver neared triple-digit temperatures, Ben Gallegos sat shirtless on his porch swatting flies off his legs and spritzing himself with a misting fan to try to get through the heat. Gallegos, like many in the nation's poorest neighborhoods, doesn't have air conditioning.The 68-year-old covers his windows with mattress foam to insulate against the heat and sleeps in the concrete basement. He knows high temperatures can cause heat stroke and death, and his lung condition makes him more susceptible. Queensbury man sentenced 12+ years on child pornography charges

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Queensbury man was sentenced to over 12 years, 151 months, in prison for receiving, transporting, and possessing child pornography online using the app "Kik." Wesley Guard, 34, previously pleaded guilty to charges in February. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Per the Department of Justice (DOJ), Guard, a registered sex offender, had used Kik Messenger to receive child pornography between September 2020 and April 2021. Guard would then send the items to another Kik account that he controlled. The materials included numerous videos that depicted the sexual exploitation of young children.The DOJ says evidence gathered also showed he still possessed child pornography he received on Kik at the time of his arrest on April 29, 2021. Guard was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release once his sentence is over, and he will be required to register as a sex offender once again upon his release.

Prices in Albany are 11.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 63.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The European Commission has approved, under EU state aid rules, two Italian schemes with a total budget of €63 million to support newspaper and periodicals publishers, as well as news publishers, radio and TV broadcasters and press agencies.Both schemes are aimed at (i) supporting companies in the publishing sector that facing financial difficulties due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic and of Russia's war against Ukraine, and (ii) protecting media pluralism.Under the first scheme, with a budget of €28 million, the aid will take the form of direct grants to newspaper and periodicals publishers. The aid amount is based on the number of paper copies of newspaper and periodicals sold in 2021, with €0,05 per paper copy.
